Acting as an in-house Architectural/Engineering (A/E) firm, the Engineering Department of the Infrastructure Services Division provides expertise for conventional facility design and construction activities and directs outside A/E services.

This A/E Consultant Handbook provides a compilation of the Infrastructure Services/Engineering policies and procedures specific to the utilization of A/E consultants and provides guidance for the A/E consultant services. It is intended as a supplement to the A/E subcontract. - Infrastructure Services Design Guide
The Design Guide concerns all proposed building, underground enclosures or facility modifications pertaining to conventional construction design that affects the building components, such as fire protection, mechanical and electrical systems. - Building Information Modeling (BIM) Guide
This BIM Guide provides a compilation of the Infrastructure Services/Engineering policies and procedures specific to the utilization of in-house projects and projects developed by outside A/E consultants. It is intended as a supplement to the A/E subcontract. - CAD Standard Manual
The CAD Standard Manual sets forth the minimum requirements to be implemented for all facilities projects, regardless whether projects are completed in-house or work is performed by an outside A/E consultant. - GIS Standards Manual
The GIS Standards Manual provides guidelines for database development and editing existing databases and shapefiles with Fermilab and its A/E subcontractors. Compliance to these standards will facilitate data sharing, integration and compatibility within Fermilab’s GIS system.
